Charter for Building Committee

Purpose:

The purpose of the St Benedict Building Committee is guide the good stewardship of the lands and buildings owned by St Benedict Episcopal Church.

Committee makeup:

The Committee will be chaired as directed by the Parish Rector with the Junior Warden typically filling the role. 

The Committee will consist of 4 to 5 members vetted by the Rector and Vestry.  The team will consist of members representing various Parish interests (eg: grounds, music,) and with skills and background in building and grounds maintenance.

Committee tasks:

Report to the Rector and Vestry known issues with the lands and buildings that require maintenance and repair. (These issues should be designated as low priority (they are not likely change if not addressed quickly); medium priority (issues that if not addressed are likely to worsen over time and may lead to major problems); high priority (items that do not endanger the lands or building but cause disruption of service); emergent (items that endanger lands or buildings or persons on our properties).

Seek input from various Parish groups and outside advisors as to how to improve our Parish properties for the future of our greater Parish (including community members who are not members of St Benedict congregation).  Report to the Rector and Vestry how these improvements may be accomplished.
