Why Morning Prayer?

We will gather together on Sunday, August 9, 8 o'clock and 10:30 am, to worship together from the Office of Morning Prayer.

Morning Prayer was written so that the People of God can begin the day in praise, Scripture, prayer, and the offering of our souls and bodies to God with the rising sun.

In the Episcopal tradition, it is one of the principal offices of the Daily Office in the Book of Common Prayer. Its purpose is not just “having prayers in the morning,” but shaping daily life around worship.

It helps us to praise God at the start of the day, offer thanksgiving and intercession and prayer for grace for the day ahead.
