Grant to us, Lord, we pray, the spirit to think and do always those things that are right, that we, who cannot exist without you, may by you be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. (We pray for the homes, people, pets, wildlife, and vegetation in the path of the wildfires in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and British Columbia)
Almighty God, who is our strength and our refuge, be with those who are besieged by fire, guide those who evacuate so that they may find care and comfort in a safe place; protect their homes and their pets, their neighbors and their friends, so that they may return home to a loving community. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your son, who abides with you and with the Holy Spirit.
