Meals for Many

As we begin a new year, the Meals For Ministry Team will share with you their monthly menu, which provides food for approximately 30 individuals who live at The Unity Commons, located on Pattison Street in Olympia, off Martin Way.  This building offers affordable rentals for 65 permanent supportive housing units for homeless individuals and is operated by LIHI. Additionally, it features a 58-bed, 24/7 enhanced shelter on the ground floor, operated by Interfaith Works.

The Team delivered Pot Roast with carrots, potatoes, and onions in a savory beef broth on Tuesday.  The smell was amazing and the whole Church smelled like homecooking.  Along with the pot roast, we served fruit cups and biscuits slathered in a herbed buttery cheese topping. (Note: for you long timers, the recipe was from Joanne Ask and served every year at the Edinburgh Fair.)  Brownies completed the meal.

We look forward to sharing with you each month how we are responding to God's call, "to whom much is given, much will be required."
