Fire Extinguisher Practice

Our Vestry took time from their busy schedules to take a hands-on class with fire extinguishers this week.  After watching two videos: ((All about fire extinguishers:) https://youtu.be/yodLMfOZNvA?si=d6TNS-IYOFfFeF94 and (Use of a fire blanket:) https://youtu.be/GLvnAe6-DLg?si=O72FcZavlsI4wjaE) the team was ready to put out a "roaring" (carefully constrained) wood fire in the parking lot using expired extinguishers.

Those who took the class indicated that it was very helpful as actually using a fire extinguisher is quite different than they had imagined but they now feel much better prepared if the need arises.

We do encourage every parishioner to review the videos (especially the kitchen staff as we now have a fire blanket near the stove in addition to the fire extinguisher near the exit.)
