Silent Pledges

Jeff Zahir, Senior Warden

Something human happened in the aftermath of the tragedy in Bend Oregon last week.  The whole community noticed that everyone and everything had grown silent.

Anything that could have been said would have been reductive.  Even crying was superfluous.  A community in witness doesn’t need to be coordinated.  It is governed by their shared humanity.

I hope that when you pledge your time, talent and treasure for our St. Benedict community, you will take a moment of silence to feel our shared humanity as a witness to Christ’s Passion.
