About Interfaith Works:

Interfaith Works is a non-profit association of faith communities and individuals of diverse faith traditions. We have a long-standing history in Olympia of bringing the resources of our members together to meet needs in our community. We have four main program areas of concentration: Homeless Services, Interfaith Understanding, Social Justice and Sacred Service.

Position Description:

The Interfaith Works Administrative Assistant reports to the Co-Executive Director for Interfaith Relations. This position is responsible for essential operations support for our four program areas listed above. The position is currently 30 hours per week, Mon-Thu 8:30am-4:15pm.  An additional hour to be worked remotely during the weekend to monitor the volunteer email account, responding to any inquiries. The office is located in a church in downtown Olympia.

Essential Duties:

•         Act as a public point of contact for the organization via phone, email and in-person visits
Collect and distribute mail 

•         Provide administrative support to Co-Executive Directors and program staff

•         Coordinate volunteers for emergency overnight shelter and Community Care Center, assisting in recruitment

•         Maintain WordPress-based website, expand web platform, e-newsletter, social media and email tools serving our members and supporters

•         Support marketing, publicity and outreach with design and production of promotional materials and public statements

•         Assist bookkeeper with accounting support tasks, including preparing the deposit

•         Assist with donor recognition

•         Provide administrative support for Board of Directors 

•         Weekly, or as needed supply purchases (use of personal vehicle may be needed on occasion)

•         Other tasks, as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications:

•         Respect, appreciation and curiosity for all faith traditions

•         Respect for and a desire to aid the most vulnerable adults in our community

•         Two or more years of experience in an office support environment

•         Ability to manage time with great efficiency

•         Ability to maintain a structured schedule for any recurring tasks

•         Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite

•         Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and programs

Desired Qualifications:

•         Knowledge of Quickbooks, WordPress, MailChimp, and a variety of web platforms

•         Understanding of the intricate web of services available to homeless and low income members of our community
